Introduction to the program
Five day introductory course aims to teach you how to dress hair and is recommended for makeup artists who need skills in hair styles to gain better employment opportunities within the fashion and media industry.
Course Objectives:
- To develop talent among students in the area of hair styling
- To prepare the students to gain additional skills in hair styling
- To provide a career programme encouraging self-employment
Teaching Methodology
Emphasis is placed on hands on training and practice. The sessions are 70% hands on practical assessments and 30% spread on lectures and research practice.

- Plaits – Three Strand, French and Fish Tail
- Blow Drying techniques
- Hair Straightening
- Advanced Blow Drying to create root lift and curl
- Roller set and Root movement theory
- Pin curl and Rag sets
- Tonging / electrical curling
- Hair finishing and texturing
- The Perfect PonyTail
- Twisting and pinning hair
- Preparation for putting hair up
- Dressing long hair – Chignon, Classic bun
- Back combing/brushing
- Beehive hair style
- Types of hair pins and correct use
- Hair Assessment
Entry Requirements
Admission into the Hair Styling program is open to students of all nationalities with respect to the submission of the following requirements:
- Complete Application form with 3 color passport – photographs
- Clear passport copy or other photo identity copy
- Students must have a good command of spoken English
- Student must be 18 years of age and above
