LCA students win UAE Fashion Revolution 2023

A small step to a greener world makes a big difference to humankind.

LCA students win the UAE Fashion Revolution competition 2023, as the 2nd Runner-ups.

Reconstructing and redesigning existing outfits is what the LCA students had come up with this year. Congratulations to our dear students for all their efforts.  Hajer and Madeya had recently participated in the “MOTB” open-air market by Etisalat and DSF showcasing their first-ever collection for 11 days. They had great sales but still had some outfits remaining even after the exhibition. They used 5 outfits from these to reconstruct 3 outfits that have been successfully presented at the UAE Fashion Revolution Competition 2023. Such a simple concept that each and every one of us can do. Instead of buying anything new, we can increase the life span of an existing outfit by recreating it into something new. This one step will help reduce the wastage of textiles, thereby reducing carbon emissions, and helping reduce environmental pollution.

We at LCA, encourage all our designers to think of sustainable solutions when preparing any design or creating any outfit. Every designer needs to practice the art of re-use and recycling and contribute to the circular fashion economy, as we do not have another planet to call home.”
