Students of London College of Arts display a stellar showcase of fashion designs at the glamorous International Fashion Week Dubai, Season 11 on 19th March 2021. At the prestigious fashion show, our two students have won the golden opportunity to be a part of future fashion shows in Paris and Dubai. Noof Al Mazzmi won the winning title of the show for her unique and innovative take on sustainable designs, while Sania Daniel won the second runner-up position for her exceptional fashion designs and clean execution.
Amongst the numerous participants from many reputed fashion schools in Dubai, five students, namely Noof Al Mazzmi, Sania Daniel, Fatema Raffique, Shazia Khan, Asma Sultana, were chosen from our institution for the final round considering their practical experience in the fashion design industry and their projection of unique ideas under sustainable fashion. Our student, Noof Al Massmi showcased a clever merge of environmental-friendly fabrics such as cotton and linen and accessories that resonate with the metropolitan vibe of Dubai. The aspiring designer used door hinges as a creative accessory to depict the city being at the forefront for constructing unique-shaped buildings. Mazzmi displayed a total of three incredible designs that were elegant, cleanly executed and had an overall monochrome effect.
Our other student who bagged the 3rd prize at the Fashion Week had a distinctive take on sustainable fashion with her designs inspired by the Nubian Queens, who are called the ‘adored ones’. Daniel’s designs were a fusion of projecting women who are strong, confident yet can be elegant and beautiful. African prints and sophisticated colour combinations played a dominant role with her designs solely dedicated to empowering women with big, bold and beautiful apparels. This made her stand out and win the 2nd runner-up position at the Fashion show.
